My name is Eleanor Stroia and I am a painter and printmaker. My work explores the abstracted form through a lens that blends humor, distortion, and personal reflection. I focus on features commonly associated with femininity — like long nails, flowing hair, and exaggerated lashes — while also highlighting elements often perceived as “unattractive,” such as a disproportionately large nose or awkward postures. These caricatured forms become a way for me to confront insecurities and examine how beauty standards shape identity and self-perception. In general, I am drawn to the immediacy of acrylic paint, and the ability to build on layers and textures that enhance the exaggerated nature of my forms.

Eleanor Stroia is a Cincinnati-based artist and current student at the University of Cincinnati, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Marketing. Eleanor works primarily with acrylic paint and screenprinting. Eleanor’s work is currently on display at The Collective in Columbia Tusculum and ARTclectic Gallery in Silverton. Eleanor has been a part of numerous gallery exhibitions at the University of Cincinnati, School of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning within the Tabula Rasa gallery. She has a lifelong passion for the arts and plans to pursue a career in the gallery industry.
